A place for people with intellectual disabilities.
At our day centre in Riobamba, adults with intellectual disabilities get therapy, lessons and a daily routine. Our association in Germany raises the money that keeps the centre running.

Why the project exists
Ecuador has very few schools or therapy services for people with intellectual disabilities. The few places that exist are expensive or far away. Many people spend their whole lives at home, cared for by their parents with no outside help.
So in 2002, a group of parents in Riobamba founded Fundación Protección y Descanso. Two years later, our support association was set up in Germany. Both are non-profits and have worked together ever since.
